Our client delivers and supports IT services to a diverse student body of over 20,000 and a staff of 3,000 located over 3 campuses. The Image Services team within ITS is responsible for providing a range of audiovisual, multimedia, photographic and related services and products to support teaching, learning and research.
Ideal Candidate : The role of the Multimedia Technician is to provide a range of multimedia outputs in support of these services, as well as business and promotional material for Schools and Central Service Units. This includes the complete planning and facilitation of on location and studio video production, editing and distribution. We are also looking for someone who can assist with the management of our lecture recording platform (currently Echo360) to ensure that the recording and distribution of lecture videos run smoothly. Victoria University are looking for a strong communicator who is experienced, is focused on customer service and can assist clients with video and multimedia production. In some cases this may include providing basic training in the use of video production gear and editing software. The successful candidate will have proven experience and technical expertise in all facets of video production including: Competence in configuring, using and maintaining appropriate hardware. Experience in providing multimedia technical support including video and audio capture of presentations, video camera operation, lighting and sound engineering, archiving and storage of on-line deliverable media content, and web-streaming. Some key result areas for the MultimediaTechnician will be to: Provide or assist clients with projects including story boarding, video capture and training them in the use of video production gear, video editing software, video format transfer, DVD authoring etc. Provide advice and support to clients regarding technological and visual enhancements that could be integrated into PowerPoint and other computer presentation applications. Assist with the lecture and presentation recording system including video capture, production and editing. Provide multimedia and graphic design support for various projects. Provide multimedia technical support and advice for flexible teaching delivery initiatives; and develop and provide on-line multimedia training resources. The salary range for the position is between $60,000 and $70,000 based on 37.5 hour working week. Application close date is the 13th of May 2016.
